Pisi Linux Fun:Terminal ASCII Aquarium

Terminal ASCII Aquarium

Hi to all
Here a Introducing for a "ASCII Aquarium" in the Terminal on Pisi Linux

It is an aquarium/sea animation in ASCII art created using perl.

First, you need to install Perl:

sudo pisi it perl perl-curses perl-Makefile-parser

As next need you the module called Term-Animation. The best is you create a empty Folder with the Name tmp in your Home Folder. Open a command-line terminal and then type:

wget http://search.cpan.org/CPAN/authors/id/K/KB/KBAUCOM/Term-Animation-2.4.tar.gz

as next

tar -zxvf Term-Animation-2.4.tar.gz

then

cd Term-Animation-2.4/

after it

perl Makefile.PL && make && make test

you can write this above in one Time in the Terminal.

after it

sudo make install

Download and Install ASCIIQuarium

cd /tmp

then

wget http://www.robobunny.com/projects/asciiquarium/asciiquarium.tar.gz

after it

tar -zxvf asciiquarium.tar.gz

and now

cd asciiquarium_1.0/

and now copying it to the right place

sudo cp asciiquarium /usr/local/bin

after it you must set the rights for it with the following command

sudo chmod 0755 /usr/local/bin/asciiquarium

How do I view my ASCII Aquarium?

Simply type the following command:

/usr/local/bin/asciiquarium

or with:

perl /usr/local/bin/asciiquarium

That was all for a simply ASCII Aquarium you can watch it here in the Video how it works
